Dubai drive times: estimated drives from your pin
How long it takes to drive somewhere shapes who will live, work or shop at a location. Pick a point and the tool estimates the drive from it to six places across Dubai, and shades the blocks you could reach within 15 or 30 minutes, at the posted speed limit and with no traffic.
- Minutes and road kilometres from your pin to DIFC, Dubai Mall, DXB Terminal 3, Al Maktoum International (DWC), Expo City Dubai and Dubai Marina.
- The blocks within 15 or 30 minutes of the area around your pin, shaded on the map.
- Estimates on OpenStreetMap roads at the posted speed limit, with no traffic. Real journeys, especially at peak hours, take longer.
The tool
Dubai drive times BETA
Search an area or a station, or click the map. The panel gives the estimated drive to each destination, and the buttons under it shade the blocks within 15 or 30 minutes.
Map layers
Map layers
Drive times are estimates on OpenStreetMap roads at the posted speed limit, with no traffic; real journeys, especially at peak hours, take longer. The destinations are read from the point of a 200 m grid nearest your pin, moved onto the nearest road, or from a destination’s own point when the pin is nearer to it; the blocks within reach are counted from the block that holds the pin.

Guide
How to read the drive times
The destinations
The table gives the estimated drive in whole minutes and the distance by road to each destination. A drive shorter than a minute reads “under 1 min”. Each destination is a fixed point on a public road: DIFC at Gate Village, Dubai Mall at the mall’s access road, DXB Terminal 3 at the Terminal 3 departures ramp, Al Maktoum International (DWC) at the passenger terminal forecourt, Expo City Dubai at Exhibition Boulevard, by Visitor Centre 7 and Dubai Marina at Marina Walk.
The blocks within reach
The buttons shade the blocks within 15 or 30 minutes of the block that holds your pin. Within 30 minutes, the blocks within 15 stay full gold and the rest are a darker gold. The block itself is outlined.
From your pin
The drive to each destination is read from the point of a 200 m grid nearest your pin, moved onto the nearest road a car can use, or from a destination’s own point when your pin is nearer to it. Moving the pin by a street or two can change the figures.
Sending and saving
Save to shortlist keeps the location for the shortlist page. Email my results sends the drive to each destination and the blocks within reach to your inbox.
Limits
How far to rely on the estimates
No traffic
Every estimate assumes empty roads driven at the posted speed limit. Real journeys, especially at peak hours, take longer.
The road map
The roads are OpenStreetMap’s as at 21 Oct 2026. Roads in communities still being built can be missing until they are mapped, and the estimates are refreshed when the road data is.
Points far from a road
A point more than 300 m from a road a car can use, such as one on the water or on open land, reads “No estimate”, and a block whose centre is that far from a road is never shaded as within reach.
How the figures are made
These figures are modelled estimates from a routing engine over OpenStreetMap roads at the posted speed limit, with no traffic. They are best used to compare one location with another.

Questions
Drive times questions
What does the drive-time tool show?
For any point you pick in Dubai, it estimates the drive in minutes and the distance by road to DIFC, Dubai Mall, DXB Terminal 3, Al Maktoum International (DWC), Expo City Dubai and Dubai Marina. It also shades on the map the blocks of the city you could reach by car within 15 or 30 minutes of the area around your pin.
How are the drive times estimated?
Each drive is routed by the OSRM routing engine over the OpenStreetMap road network, with roads as at 21 Oct 2026. A road is driven at its posted speed limit as recorded in OpenStreetMap; a road with no recorded limit is driven at a standard speed for its type of road, and turns, traffic lights and barriers add time. There is no traffic in the estimate, so real journeys, especially at peak hours, take longer.
Is the drive measured from my exact pin?
The drive to each destination is read from the point of a 200 m grid nearest your pin, after that point is moved onto the nearest road a car can use; a pin placed on one of the destinations is read from that destination's own point. The blocks within 15 or 30 minutes are counted from the block that holds your pin, a hexagon of about 0.75 km², so they describe the area around it.
Can I use the drive-time data myself?
Yes. The drive-time data is derived from OpenStreetMap and is published free under the Open Database Licence. Both files are linked under Sources and dates, with the method and the licence inside each. Credit "© OpenStreetMap contributors" and Mitchell's Commercial Real Estate when you use them.
Can I send the drive times to myself?
Yes. "Email my results" sends the drive to each destination and the blocks within reach, with how they were estimated, to your inbox. The address bar also keeps your pin, so a shared link opens the same spot in this module or any other.
